Keir Dullea
American actor who played Dr. David Bowman in '2001: A Space Odyssey' (1968) – the astronaut who lip-reads through HAL, dismantles him singing 'Daisy', and ultimately becomes the Star Child. Spielberg specifically picked him because Stanley wanted faces with no movie-star baggage. Pre-2001 best known for 'David and Lisa' (1962) opposite Janet Margolin.
