Most cinematic shot
The hosts pick the single most visually striking shot or sequence in the film – the moment that most makes you appreciate the craft of filmmaking. This could be an elaborate tracking shot, a perfectly composed frame, stunning use of lighting or color, or just a shot that takes your breath away every time you see it.
This category celebrates cinematography, direction, and the visual art of movies. It tends to shine brightest with action films, period pieces, and anything shot by a legendary cinematographer.
A relatively late addition to the category lineup, it came from the The New Categories Selection Show episode in 2022. It's named after Gordon Willis, affectionally called "Gordo" on the show, who was the cinematographer behind the first two "Godfather" movies.
