Director and co-writer of 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective' (1994). Also directed 'The Nutty Professor' (1996), 'Liar Liar' (1997), 'Patch Adams' (1998), and 'Bruce Almighty' (2003). A young joke writer who went all-in on 'Ace Ventura' knowing it could ruin his career. The cinematographer said the stuff Carrey was doing was so over the top he 'truly thought this was going to be the biggest piece of shit ever.'
