Heywood Gould
Screenwriter and novelist. Wrote the semi-autobiographical 1984 novel 'Cocktail' based on his 12+ years working as a bartender, then adapted it into the screenplay. The original script was much darker – about the cult of celebrity – but was lightened to protect Tom Cruise's image.
