Actor who played Otis Day, frontman for Otis Day & The Knights, in 'Animal House' (1978) – the 'Shout' / 'Shama Lama Ding Dong' performance scene became one of the most iconic needle drops of the era. Doesn't actually sing in the movie (the vocals were lip-synced), but bought the rights to the Otis Day name afterward and toured the country as Otis Day for decades, much to John Landis's eventual surprise.
