Curtis Hanson
Director and co-writer of 'L.A. Confidential' (1997), which won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Also directed '8 Mile' (2002), 'Wonder Boys' (2000), and 'The Hand That Rocks the Cradle' (1992). Pitched 'L.A. Confidential' by assembling postcards of 1950s Los Angeles and holding a mini film festival for the cast. Died in 2016.
