Apex Mountain
Is this movie the career apex for someone – meaning, the moment when they had the most career "juice"? When nobody could tell them "no", and they had complete freedom in choosing their own project? Alternatively, for non-people things, is this the peak of that thing's popularity?
This category is fun, since it gets often confused with "Is this the person's best movie?", or "Is this the person's best work in a movie, ever?" (especially by less experienced Rewatchables guests), which Bill has to point out is not the point of the category, leading to a running gag on the show that nobody understands what Apex Mountain means, even after hundreds of episodes.
This is one of the original categories present from the very first episode, 'A Few Good Men' (it was only missing from the initial 'Heat' 20-Year Anniversary Mega-Pod episode on the Bill Simmon's podcast, and the very first 5 movies, 'Any Given Sunday' through 'Jerry Maguire', considered the "Sports Movie Hall of Fame").
